Missing 411 Missing children in National Parks. Unsolved Disappearances.

David Paulides is a retired police officer and has had countless cases throughout his career.

Not only is he determined to solve every case he comes across, but he thrives in the fact that cold cases need to get solved or rather looked at again and again to give the families the closure they surely deserve.

In 2007 two Park Rangers approached David and asked him to assist them with missing cases that they were currently busy working on.

After the Rangers approached him, the cases shocked David so much that he decided to investigate similar cases himself.

He has written numerous books on all the cases of missing persons in National Parks. He however focuses more on missing children as he is a father himself.

David has done over 1200 cases over a period of 8years and has seen some of the strangest phenomena. One being feet washing up on the shore

Aside from this he says North America has the largest cluster of missing people with Yosemite National Park having over 52 clusters of missing cases alone.

One case that David has done and still bothers him to this day was when a group of 5-6 boys all being under the age of 14 went missing around Crator Lake. They were never found.

Another being when one boy, also around Crator Lake,was with his dad and grandpa. His name was Sammy Boehlke

After his dad stopped the car, Sammi ran up a mount of dirt and with Sammi having a mental disabillity his dad quickly ran after him, but after looking around his dad could not find him.

Search parties were dispatched and sniffer dogs were sent out. Sammy Boehlke still hasn't been found.

David Paulides has written over 8 books and has made 1 documentary. Through this he hopes that more missing cases can be solved and not just left alone.

There is a few strange similarities that David has found between all the disappearances he has studied.

#1 Water

Lots of victims were found near water with no indication of them having fallen in or having drowned

#2 Bad weather

David also noticed that during the search for a victim or during the disappearance itself the weather always take a turn for the worse. It always happens very suddenly.

#3 Disabilities

A lot of the victims had disabilities prior to them disappearing.

#4 Canines Unable To Track

Special trained dogs are always used to search for victims, but David has found that in 95% of the cases the dogs have been unable to find a single scent.

#5 Point of Separation

David noticed that when someone disappeared in close proximity to friends or family members it was always, because either they gone off on their own, strayed behind or went too far ahead. The point of separation might only be for a few seconds, but it seems long enough for them to disappear.

#6 Missing Shoes And Clothes

A lot of the victims and even those are found alive are often found without all their clothes on. Some of them have walked miles without their shoes.

#7 Time

You might expect that the majority of the disappearances happened at night time, but David found that almost all of the disappearances took place when the sun was still out.

#8 Unknown Cause of Death

In most of the cases David has studied when a person is found, but not alive their cause of death can usually not be determined.

#9 Boulders

A surprising amount of found victims of disappearances have been found next to or surrounded by boulders.

#10 Geological Clusters

David found that when people disappeared it always happened in clusters. Not just in America, but also in Canada. The strange thing is these clusters are no more dangerous than any other area.

#11 Geniuses and Experienced Hikers

One of the stranger things is the sheer amount of geniuses and experienced hikers that seem to disappear.
